Thinking of either Z9 or Pioneer AX10Ais.
Yam LFE crossover goes down to 40Hz, which is important for me as my KEF Ref 3's go down to 36HZ, but on line info only says it can bi wire fronts.

Pio LFE lowest crossover is 50Hz so would compromise full range ability of fronts but can bi amp.

    Can the Z9 bi amp?
If not should I be concerned by the Pio LFE issue?
    Budget is £3k max.
Are there any others I should audition?
    Many thanks folks.

Giantteabag - Dem both pieces of Kit either one you would be more than happy with but i prefered the sound of the Z9 over the Pioneer and it has more power.

    Thanks recruit.
    How does the sound differ?
Do you know its peak output current capability, per channel?
I currently have the Yam 750se so I am biased to this brand.

The sound on the Pioneer was brighter than the Z9 which is why i prefered it, Ref to the current output i do not know what that is but it works on the principal of high current delivery to all channels.
As an example the Dynamic output into 8/6/4/2ohms is 210/260/340/580watts respectively so you can get an idea of the power it kicks out and it has a minumum RMS output with all channels driven of 170watts into an 8ohm load.

    Thanks recruit.
Wow thats impressive. Mine outputs 200W dynamic @ 4ohm, so I think I'd notice the difference!
Do you route video via the amp or direct to plasma?
Is there anything you are not happy about the amp?
    Am green with envy!

Yeah everything is routed via the amp to plasma thru component which is quite handy as the amp does all the switching.
If you are after a 1 box solution then at present the Z9 is the best out there untill the Denon is released, it does home cinema brilliantly and there is nothing i dislike about the amp, if you can demo it against the Pioneer and i bet you will prefer the Z9.
