isnt that just going to provoke a needless technology arguement. you choose DLP be happy with it and let others be happy with their purchase

    Tom,

    LOL !!!

    cyberheater,

Don't really see the point - if you're happy with what you've got it seems pointless stirring up a DLP vs. LCD thread.

no matter what wether light hearted or not people will always come in and rise to the bait. ive seen it some many times with DD v DTS. only takes a small inoffensive comment and you have a 10 page thread that turns into a slag fest

Yeah I hear what you are saying, but it MAY help folks see what is what. The wee rainbow pic a couple of days ago was pretty good.

I am not totally happy with the 'Fuzzing' effect I am getting on my DLP and the only thing that put me off the LCD was vertical banding as so many folks said it was visable.

The 'fuzzing' really hurts my eyes where as a non moving verticle line won't.

As you say don't want to stir things up though :nono:

Actually some pictures/video that would show the vertical banding problem would be helpful. I am thinking to buy the AE700 and they say this PJ suffers from it. I want to see what kind of thing it is exactly. (especially with the AE700)

yes it would be fine in a sticky but you will always get some people who have it and dont and it turns into something it shouldnt. im all for a possible new sticky for DLP or LCD explaining with pictures pro's con's etc. i one of the very few folk who has bad VB on the hitachi.

You do have a point. I for one have never seen vertical banding (I think) and i've owned 2 LCD machines which at the time were fantastic.

In fact. I sometime really miss my AE200. Great machine for the money and bought me many hours of enjoyment. :)

I personally think you are better off not seeing pics of vb but to go and view a pj in a store.

This way if you see them by yourself then fair enough but for someone to point them out to you is never a good idea as you will notice them all the time after this.

I know people who think their pj doesn't have a vb issue when i can quite clearly see them :( but i wouldn't dream of pointing them out :nono:

I don't argue. I love the black level and contrast of DLP but I've tried to watch them and they give me severe headache's almost every time and the rainbows are always very distracting. If you like DLP, then great, I'm pretty sure you're totally enjoying it. My only issue is that if I bought DLP and I personally got used to it and had no problems with "rainbows" etc, it would be kinda risky for guests. Since some people see rainbows and some people don't, I'd have no control over whether or not watching a movie on my DLP would provide friends with a good experience or a literal headache.

This is what i'm talking about. This forum really really really over exagerates rainbows. I've had loads of folks of all ages and eye colour type etc... over my house watching movies and have never ever had anyone ever complain about headaches etc...

It's totally blown out of all proportions.

I can't see rainbows in normal viewing on the H30a but i get just about instant eye strain. Not sure if this is due to the 'fuzzing' issue as i actively look for it (cant help myself). Need to wait and see once I get my Samsung hd 850 to see if this reduces the 'fuzzing' and my eye strain.

If not anyone want a swap for a lcd :rotfl:
