Can V88 Android Box use exFAT?

I recently bought a V88 Android box. I want to connect a exFAT formatted drive to it. It was not recognized. From searching it doesn't support those drives and if I want to use the exFAT drive I would need to either format it and lose all the files on there.

Website I got it from says "Firmware Version: Android 5.1". Is there a later firmware for an Android TV box that has exFat support?

I don't know what kind of files you have on the exfat drive, but if they are movies, perhaps you could try installing Libreelec.
