Can Upscaling DVD players do 720p/1080i via component?

    Hi,

    I just need to know that do upscalling dvd players upscale with component?

    Generally no, though there are one or two about that do. Most only upscale via HDMI.

    Check your display, as they are usually capable of upscaling any signal that comes into them, and could very well do it better than a cheap DVD player.

    Well tv is a panny 42px60 i think, so would that upscale?

    hi there. I've got a samsung dvdhd850, which I believe, out-of-the-box, wasn't multiregion, nor could it do upscaling via component.
    After running the handset hack (which I was really doing for multi region), it also upscales via component as well, which is sweet. Ironically it's in the 'hdmi' menu setting or something, but whatever, it certainly does it.

    Even the girlfriend notices a difference :thumbsup:
