Can you run TomTom Sat Nav on an iPad Air WiFi only but use the iPhone hotspot for the 3G connection? Would this work?

Just thinking that the screen is larger on my iPad and could use that? Or even an iPad Mini WiFi?

Thanks

I dont think its ever been confirmed that it could use the GPS over tethering as well. Might be worth googling that bit.

I had a google of whether tethering picks up the phones GPS as well and the general consensus is that it doesnt. Some folk reported maps working when you tether but that could be due to it working based on cell towers etc from the data signal more than GPS. Did see a few plug in devices to add GPS to a non GPS iPad.

I've got a wifi only iPad at home so could try it but its when i'll get the chance to do so as in the middle of moving house so everything all over the shop currently.
