I think I may have have made an error when ordering a Peter Frampton cd. I've ordered the sacd version, but only now suspect I won;t be able to play it

I have a pioneer 737 dvd player and pioneer 2011. Can anyone advise please on whetehr I can play sacd?

If I can't play the cd in 5.1 (format?), will I be play it at all in stereo?

Thanks.

If your dvd player is capable of playing sacd's and you have connected the six channel outs to your six channel ins on your av amp then you shouldn't have any problem.
If your dvd player doesn't play sacd's then you might still be able to play as a normal cd if it is a hybrid disc. Hybrid discs have two layers one for sacd and one for normal cd play back. If the disc is not a hybrid and if your dvd player cannot decode sacd then I'm afraid you've bought something you cannot play. Had a quick look for the Peter Frampton sacd and the only one i found was not a hybrid.:(

Thanks. I've managed to cancel and order the conventional cd. These impulse purchases can sometimes take an age to unravel.
