Hi everyone,
I need help from home theater experts, I hope some of you can help me out.
My current setup:
TV: LG OLED 55 C7
AUDIO: Sony Soundbase XT3
MEDIA: Xbox One S, PS4 Pro, Record Player
What I am trying to achieve: having a solid system that takes advantage of 4K HDR and modern audio/video standards. I have been quite happy with my current simple setup, but since my Soundbase broke, I am considering what my next move should be: a new Atmos-ready soundbar? A full surround system?
See attached image for the layout
The reason why I can't really pick a soundbar is because I want HDR passthrough on at least two devices, and this is often not possible. On the other hand, with a decent AV Receiver I could fix the problem. I am tempted by a surround system solution, but what is holding me back the most is the fact that I can't really tell if with my current room layout I could really benefit from an expensive system. I have a tiny bit of space available behind the sofa, but is that enough to get decent rear sound? How about the height of the ceiling if I move towards an Atmos-ready solution?
In all of this, I am not looking for an incredibly expensive setup, but I'd be ok with spending around 1000 euros on a good soundbar, or 1600-2000 on a full surround (which I could build slowly over time).
So yeah, I am looking for suggestions, I mostly play games, listen to music and watch movies, so the setup should be fairly flexible.
Thank you for the help!
