can this be done mce 2005

    right lads
    just got an xbox 360
    and i want to stream video files (dvd,divx,mpeg,hdtv files) from pc to 360
    i have at the moment xp pro sp 2
    and have been told i need mce 2005 for it to work
    the question i need to know is
    1. can i run mce over my xp pro (as i have a lot of software i dont want to loss)
    2. do i need to have a tv tuner card(dont have one at present)
    3. are these spec ok for streaming hd film to tv via 360 over a wired network

    nec 3450 dvdrw
    NIVIDIA Geforce 6600gt(128mb)
    Windows xp-pro (sp2)

    MCE is a different version of XP, its effectively XP pro + media center minus the ability to logon to a domain. You would have to purchase MCE and install that.

    The xbox360 extender software doesn't support divx or xvid

    Don't think you need a tv card for streaming video (you would for playing back recorded tv, which you can't record without a card so its not really an issue).

    The PC is more than powerful enough.
