Can the Arcam DV88 be bought for a good price

    Do any on-line retails do the Arcam DV88 and do they do good discounts.

    I know that its hard if not impossible to get good prices quality HiFi products and expect the same to be true for the DV88.

    I know you are looking for a SVCD capable player John, but I am holding off to see what the reviews are like on the new Cyrus DVD player, I think it will be a viable option to the Arcam, I have been told that it will play MP3's and will be using the Zoran chipset like the Arcam, so multiregion etc will be available on it. It will sell for £1000. And I know Cyrus will do a better job of the remote than Arcams effort.

    know what you mean the Arcam remote is fiddly, but you get to know what button does what like any other...so no probs.

    Cyrus due out in next few weeks according to HiFi Corner Edinburgh

    The remote doesn't bother me too much, as I have a Pronto..

    The problem is the price.. Even the Arcam blows my budget.. But its still a possiblity..

    But I can't justify any more..

    Whats the Cyrus going to offer extra over the Arcam?

    "what's the Cyrus going to offer"

    To be honest details are a bit sketchy, hence the wait for the reviews etc. My interest is that I have a monoblocked Cyrus system gathering dust in my back room, so if I trade in my Dad3Q-24 and Toshiba SD200E it will cost me about £300 to get a player in the same league as the Arcam. That simple.
