From those pictures shown it all looks OK.

Things to double check would be the front panel connectors - very easy to get them mixed up and I can't make them out from here. Just go over them with the motherboard manual open.

What graphics card is that? Make sure the PSU is upto the task.

Make sure RAM and securely seated.

Then just test it...

the graphics card is a hd6950
the psu is xfx 750w
the ram is locked in properly
i am worried about wheteher or not the front end connectors are right, followed the manual but it was not very clear.would it cause any damage if they are wrong or would it be a case of swapping them round

Yeah, the front panel connectors can be quite tricky and fiddly.

As all their doing is controlling switches/lights on the case you won't do any damage if you've got them the wrong way around.

What you can do though is only use power (+) and power ground, no need for HDD activity as you don't have a drive in there and also leave out the reset ones. Just get the pos and negative the write way around.

Also nice choice of components. If that is a rev. 1 6950 you will be able to unlock the shaders and flash it to a 6970!! Nice PSU too, will take another 6950(70) if you Crossfire them later on.
