Can someone recommend me a specific LG OLED model to hunt for here?

The wife and I are replacing our living room TV and decided to spend a little more many than we normally would and get a nice TV. Ideally I would like to stay under $1600 if at all possible. I have always been a Samsung guy and were/are looking to jump up from our 55" UHD to a 75" QLED. Did a TON of reading and research and found that the 2019 R series (QN75Q70RAFXZA is the one I am looking at) is actually preferred over the 2020 and 2021 models. Took a lot of doing but found one brand new in box from a store online and was ready to buy it. Then I started thinking if I spent this kind of money (a good amount for us, at least) I better consider other options too.

I have read all about the differences between QLED and OLED and a lot of it seems to come down to the particulars of your viewing room. Our living room has 2 skylights above it but there are only certain times a day the light comes in and it does not hit the TV screen. I like the idea of the brighter screen of the QLED when watching like golf or football in the day time but most of our TV viewing is in the evenings when the room is darker so maybe a OLED would be the way to go.

Because I know a new 2021 LG OLED in 77" would be over my budget I was wondering if someone had a year or two older specific model I should check out? Sort of a diamond in the rough, bang for the buck pick I should scour the internet looking for here?

Last years model the CX as opposed to the new C1.

2021 models are just out, they're at their most expensive. 2020 models are at their lowest as they've been superseded but are still available, at least in the UK.

In december i went all in and bought the LG CX 77 inch through Costco. I originally intended to buy a 65 inch but i realized i really did want the 12 extra inches. My advice is to spend the extra money for the size you really want. If you won't be content with the size you'll be itching to buy another in a few years anyway and it'll cost you more in the long run. Personally i upgraded from an older 1080p Sony 55 inch to the LG OLED 77inch 4k. Couldn't be happier with it.

The OLED tvs are just unbeatable IMO in regards to color accuracy. My bro has a LG Nanocell that is really large like 85 inches. It's nice. But i don't think it or any others compare to the colors of an OLED. The black levels on the OLED are perfect. I never have glare problems in my home. I expect to get easily 5-10 years before i feel my TV is antiquated. I don't think I'll be interested in buying an 8k TV anytime soon as it takes a lot of time for tech to catch up to the newest technology. Anybody streaming 8k anytime soon?

Although if i were definitely not getting an OLED tv i'd still go LG over Samsung. I'm not particularly impressed with Samsungs and the QLED. I think it's more of a gimmick than new tech. They're basically still LED LCD's.

Look at my 2018 LG OLED55CPA.....I will never, EVER buy an OLED again......never left it frozen, paused or used more than 4 hours of normal tv watching a day. For everyone that says how great the picture is, um, I would rather not spend 2k ever two years.

That sucks man. That looks like severe burn-in. I know the model i have has some auto screen that takes over if it senses the pic hasn't changed to avoid burn in. I'd be very pissed as well if that happens to my OLED.
