Aint that the truth . But easily remedied
Now now john your only jealous that you envy my username and you secretly want it
I think if anything it's getting slacker here. I read several posts yesterday that a few years ago would have resulted in bans or holidays.
Probably because there are a lot more than several more users than a few years ago, it's good that the mods let there be a bit of freedom, especially with some subjects which are always going to get a bit argumentative etc... but they stop things when they get a bit too far, have to remember that there can't always be a mod here, they have real lives to attend to as well.
I thought they were bots?
Very good post actually.
I have been given a warning on here once for saying something that sounded like a swear word, but it's so like hearted even my 94 year old gran uses it! I was slightly shocked by that tbh...
Every other forum I use allows swearing (mostly car forums) where they understand 99% of people are going to be 17 or over. I would argue that most people on here are 17/18+ too.
I do think this forum is a little up-tight, but I understand why, and at the end of the day I enjoy using this place, and I want to stay! So I will abide by the rules
like many things in life, the people that own the house make the rules, if you dont like the rules move house. if the house doesnt have enough guests it'll either amend its rules or run itself into the ground.
AVF seems to be doing rather well for itself, so does AVF benefit from having you here or do you benefit from AVF being here?
Yes I swear on a daily basis and when i am around like minded people every other word will be something you wouldnt say infront of the queen. doesnt mean im scum of society and I know when to hold back the language too... AVF is one of those places to hold back
the idea of family friendly is so people can use the site on a pc in a family room and read anything without worrying about other family members looking over their shoulder and reading it
so someone with a small child can look at this site for help in getting a tv, dvd player, or games console to work properly without swear words or adult pictures popping up. family friendly isn't just friendly towards children, but the elderly. many wouldn't like to look at the site for help to fix a parents tv or vcr and have a load of swearing on the page. likewise at work
you know with these forums you are perfectly safe to look anything up anywhere at anytime with any family member looking at the screen with you, and you won't find anything embarassing or rude
there are plenty of other forums that allow people to swear on, so you can post on those if you want to swear. as this site has over 3 million different visitors each month, and one of the most popular forums on the web, the lack of swearing doesn't seem to adversely affect it's popularity
I wonder if images are censored too...
Is it ok to post a picture of a giant cockrel?
Yes, you can even post ones of rose breasted cockatoos
I love a cockatoo, but who doesn't, daaarling!
What if you are a fan of Scunthorpe United?
Then you get the thread closed
