As the phrase goes, i`m after the organ grinder and not the monkey. I`m not happy about something to do with sky HD, i want to take it further and i need an email address where the issue will be resolved.

    Can anyone help ?

Can someone read this sky website advert and tell me how it comes across to you regarding the installation fee and to see if i`m reading it the same way as you are ?

I read it as you get a free installation if you are a new customer or if you sign up to sky for another 12 months (presumably for your existing mixes plus HD)

The truth is, I don't know. The last time I used it, some time ago admittedly, it was fine but it may well be that it has been superseded by now. Having said that, it'll do no harm to give it a try.

    All the best,

    Cheers,

    Martin.

On that advert it says "A Sky+HD box is now just £49 with free standard set up when you take the HD pack and stay with Sky TV for another year".

Now correct me if i`m wrong, to get this new deal you have to sign up for the HD pack for 12 months anyway and it then says "stay with Sky for another year".

To stay with Sky for another year in the context they are using you must have been with Sky previously to stay for "ANOTHER" year if you understand that, if thats the case shouldn`t existing customers be getting free installation with the way that advert is worded ?

I wonder if what the term 'Standard Installation' means, check their Ts and Cs. I agree it does read as if it should be free but I know how shifty Sky can be with pricing when it comes to existing users.

Glad you read it the same way as i did, how much more standard could they get than swapping a Sky+ box for a HD box :D

Unscrew 2 aerial cables, screw them back into the other box and ring sky to pair the card with the box...... job done!

On the other hand the delivery of the box and the guarantee of the whole system (no call out charge) for a year is probably good value for 30 quid.

Remember they will also replace your cable/dish/lnb if required.

The current deal is if you're a new customer you get a Sky+HD box for £49 with free install. If you're an existing customer and this is your first HD box sourced from Sky then you can get the box at the same price but pay £30 installation unless you take multiroom (and I take this to mean another multiroom sub if you already have multiroom) then install will be free. No matter if you're a new customer or an existing customer there is a minimum 12 month subscription the the HD pack which is £9.75 per month.
