In my sig below is a pic that may help explain.
I'm looking to wall mount the plasma and get rid of the tv unit. all the equipment will thus have to go in the understairs cupboard which is directly behind the right hand side wall to the tv (next to the r/h speaker with a power socket on it.)

The equipment behind that plasterboard wall in the cupboard will be:

Pioneer amp (which has a learning remote)
sky hd

and a ps3 + wii. but the ps3 remote should work through the wall anyway.

So its really the amp and skyhd box and wii that need to be controlled.
what is the easiest and cheapest - must be cheap- way to do this?

seen keene mentioned a lot but not sure what i need.

an idiots guide here is what i need please,

A pair of Powermids or the equivalent should do this for you. One picks up the IR signal, sends it by RF to the other, that converts it back to IR for the devices.

ok so one in the lounge and one in the cupboard i guess.

but in the cupboard will it just control one device? i need it to control three so will i need some sort of wide beam thingy in the cupboard or will the one just do it fine?

hmm maybe plug this into the reciever to control two items on other shelves? or will just the receiver be able to do all three on its own?

The one in the cupboard spreads its IR beam wide, but you can have a separate emitter for each device if you prefer.
