Question can someone explain steam controller to me please...

    ok,

    so im looking at a steam controller, it says i can play my games on the TV - is that all i need?

    can i use this on a mac as well?

    cheers - this is what i dont understand!!! was just going to buy the controller :) - so i will also need a steam link as well?

    from the steam website - here is the blurb on the controller:

    Thats assuming you connect your PC to your TV, then all you need is the steam controller.

    Seeing as this was your answer, I think its best to let you know you also need a computer with Steam to stream the games to the TV via the Steam Link and play using the controller.

    hehehe cheers cha1ky :) - made me chuckle. Ive got a PC - believe it or not - just never though about connecting it to the TV!!!!

    im assuming a steam link will wirelessly display my pc on the TV - or is it only steam content?

    I can see why you thought that way reading that - that's not very clear is it, and actually misleading.

    You do not need to use a steam controller with a steam link, as the Link works with an xbox pad just fine. The advantage of a steam controller is that you can use it for mouse based games.
