Silly question - but somebody told me that after they bought a 'dodgy' DVD from a Sunday Market, their DVD player stopped working. Could playing a DVD-R from your DVD Recorder do any damage to your player as a DVD-R is really the same thing as a pirated DVD?

If it was just a standard dvd-r then no it cant damage your player as they are designed to be read in DVD players but if it had say a sticker on it, then the sticker could become unstuck inside the player and get tangled up inside which would defently cause damage but if you have a standard dvd-r which you have burned on your computer there is no reason why playing it will damage your player.
