Can my 20-year old Marantz CD player plays SACD and black CD?

I believe my 20-year old Marantz CD-5000 can't play SACD because the format was invented years after the player was built. Right?

How about the black CD? Please refer to image below. It is named "black vinyl CD" in Chinese. I wonder what the difference is.

No it will not play SACD. Black vinyl CDs are only that colour of the upperside. They have to be standardised on the reading surface so that they can be played.

SACD was released as a format in 1999 , so about 3-4 years older than your player.
Your player wont play SACDs because it is not an SACD player.

Lots of SACDs are whats known as hybrid SACDs , they have a CD layer and an SACD layer , your player should have no problem playing the CD layer from these , but wont play the SACD layers.

As Gibbsy says , "black vinyl" CDs just refers to the decoration style on the face of the CD , it is otherwise just a bog standard CD like every other.
