Hi
i'm about to get delivery of a 2008 macbook, 160gb core2duo etc. I work in tv and need to practice techniques on final cut.
These will only be for rough edits, not going to air so what i wanted to know was:
Can the macbook cope with Final Cut Pro/Studio or should i get Express?

cheers

Hi gadey me old mucker!!

Should have asked me this question....

I had Final Cut Express on the Macbook you bought from me. It worked fine for basic edits and even ingesting direct from a DVCAM deck via firewire.

I did a rough cut of the Norwich City end of season DVD on it last year and it was fine (apart from them getting relegated!).

Hope that helps

Noooooooo!!!!
i thought i'd asked what software it had on it!
You've cleaned it all up haven't you? WHat comes as standard? is it the iLife programs?
I would have enjoyed the Norwich cut too, being a long-suffering supporter - used to play in the youth team many years ago when they trained at Trowse.

cheers

Ian
