Richer Sounds are sell Mission M73 Floorstanders for £95 a pair and was think of buying 2 pairs (front and rear) and a Mission M7C1 Centre Speaker.

Will it be ok to use these as rear speakers or will the balance be all wrong.

Cheers

Matching rear speakers are great for surround sound and are what the purists recommend.

I have M73's as fronts, but I recommend the M7C2 centre speaker. I prefer it to my old M7C1.

Ideally the surrounds should be anything between 60cm/90cm above ear height when sat in the listening position, being as they are floorstander I would see how they sound at floor level first before you nail them to the wall with 6inch rawbolts. :D

I second the movement towards a M7c2 it is a much better match to the M73's.

Thanks people

I think i will go for the definatley better center speaker.

But i dont to be drilling holes in the wall or buying tall stands for the rears, thats one of the reasons i was going for the floorstanders.

I also tend to agree that rear speakers on ear level are less then ideal unless they have quite a distance to the seating position. But if it's not possible otherwise than you can of course compromise by using floorstanders ...
