    Hi,
I'm about to buy a new DVD recorder, and would like to buy the right media to go along with it.

Ive noticed on some DVD-R's, some say video, some say video & data, and some say data.

Can I use any of these DVD-R's, or do I have to use the Video only type?

    Thanks:confused:

All that goes on a DVD-R disc is data of some sort be it video or otherwise. So the data only discs probably would work but I can't say I have come acroos such singular specified discs.

If they say Data & Video or 120 min then you are ok to use them. If I were you I would avoid the very cheap discs. (Probably the data ones). Try Memorex, Verbatim, or if your machine is ok with Ritek based dye (One of mine isn't) then go for any of the discs described as having Ritek formulation.

If you buy from a company like SVP they reccommend what type of machine or drive differing brands should be used in. If they don't work they will replace them with something else for you or refund.

Good luck with your new toy they are great.....
