Sorry if this has been asked before but i couldn't find any definite answers by searching.

What i want to know is if a get my own Sky HD box and do the install myself putting the two lines i need to the box then ringing Sky and getting a Freesat for Sky viewing card will i be able to get the free HD channels (all 3 of them) and will i be able to use the recording functions of the box. I have heard that you can't use the recording functions unless you have a proper sky subscription but i am not sure. Also are ther any other issues with doing this i should be aware of?

Many Thanks

KT, with a Sky HD box and FSFS card, you will be able to get BBCHD, CH4HD and LUXEHD, but not ITVHD which is exclusive to Freesat, however you will not be able to use the recording functions without a subscription.
