Can I use a Samsung LCD TV as a monitor?

I currently use a HP W2228h which has a resolution of 1680 x 1050.

I am going to buy a Samsung LCD TV and I was told by PC World that I could use this as a pc monitor and kill 2 birds with one stone.

However I do a lot of work in Photoshop CS4 and wondered if there would be a loss in quality as the samsung is 1366 x 768.

Would a 23/26 or even a 32 inch be ok?

I have a Geforce 8800GT

Thanks

I reckon you'll be better off with a monitor that doubles as a TV, rather than the other way around - an example is a 24" Samsung T240HD for ~£280. It has a larger 1920x1200 resolution compared to the 1366x768 in the one you were thinking of getting.

However, for Photoshop CS4, you might want to consider a non-TN screen (monitor-only though) for better colour reproduction. A 22" Dell 2209WA for instance, which go for ~£200 in some online shops. Unfortunately, if you're thinking of any larger, they are £400+. An example would be a 24" Dell U2410 (shop around for the best price).
