    Hi,

I have a fairly good DVD/VCD player and am looking to buy a sound system to go with it. On top of this, I am buying my parents a DVD player for xmas. I've seen the Toshiba SD43HK home cinema package, and am considering splitting up the package to give parents the dvd player and they run it through their tv and I keep the 5.1 system. Is this advisable? My DVD player is far higher quality and the reviews I've seen of the Toshiba SD43HK only bring up a few probs regarding the DVD player, and that with some EQ alterations, the sound system itself seems fine. Any ideas?

Depends on whether the amp/decoder on the Toshiba system is on the dvd player or in the subwoofer. If it's in the dvd player I suppose you cant.
