On my projector I use the HD15 (vga style) socket to input Component from my amp..it's set-up through the menu of the projector..
Now if I wanted to also use a PC through the projector aswell, could I route the VGA cable and HD15 plug (from amp) into a data switch (vga pinned) then one vga cable into projector and switch between them (whilst powered off of course)..
I know I'd have to change the setting in the projectors menu each time but wondering if I can run a component through a VGA data swtich box..I assume a data switch box is all pins connected so it shouldn't matter..
Some expert advice or even just opinions would be greatly received..
    Thanks
    Steve

    That should work.
I don't see why you should have to switch the PJ off between switching but there is no harm in being cautious.

Mechanical VGA switchers are not renown for their bandwidth. but they are so cheap that this has to be worth a go.
