Can I run my old Dell through my Onkyo TX SR606?

Hi there,
just bought a shiny new machine from Overclockers. What I would like to do is move my 3/4 year old Dell down to the lounge and run it through my TV.
At the moment I have all my devices running into my Onkyo TX SR606 with one HDMI cable out of this under the carpet to my Panny LCD.
What I would really like is to feed my PC into the Amp and not have to take up the carpet to run another cable.
Is this possible?
Many thanks

If your old machine has a DVI output, you could use a DVI to HDMI lead to connect, but that wouldn't transmit the sound.

Another way would be to get a cheap HDMI out graphics hard like the Radeon HD3450, which will send audio over the HDMI connection.

Cheers

there is loads of info in the sticky there

If you only want audio then you just need an optical or coax SPDIF cable (depending on what SPDIF output your PC has). If you want video you will need a DVI to HDMI cable as above
