Can I run low Impedence speakers?

I've ordered a sony 510 reciever and found out afterwards that my sub isn't active. Also my speakers are only 4ohm Impedence.

What I need to know is can I temporarily run my speakers to free up more cash to buy a sub? I can't afford to buy the whole lot as I've pretty much blown my budget on the amp alone!

You'll be ok as long as you don't turn the sound up too loud. And I wouldn't try to use the passive sub with the other speakers either.

Yeah I won't be going mad with the volume. I only want it to run on my PS3 for now. I'll be buying an active sub it's just I couldn't afford to splash out on a full set of speakers at the mo!
