    As the title asks really.

Would the housekeeping routine be sufficent to ensure I have no problems swapping the 120G hard disc in my V2, to my V1 box?

The reason I want to do this is the V2 is too noisy in the AV room (bloody fan!), so I want to swap it with the quieter V1 and keep the larger hard disc in the AV room.

    yes I think you can

be aware the 17min bug still exists on V1 boxes; far more reliable now but you never know.

Well, I did it and it does work.
I havn't tried to see if it has the 17 min bug yet though.

What I have noticed is that the V1 powers down the HD when in standby, but the V2 keeps it spinning 24/7.
The V1 is much quieter even when the HD is spinning, and is practically silent when in standby. So this was a very worthwhile job done.

Indeed they should, unless the v2 doesn't have the latest OS. Infact if it spun the HD down then the temp might drop which would turn the fan off thereby removing the need to swap the HD's.
