ie. lord of the rings extended editions?

i have been slowley coping my dvd colection onto my hard disc and i finally got round to thr lord of the rings films.

i ripped them to my hard disc using dvd shrink (no compression) and tried to add the two "films" together.

it sort of works, but instead of one long 3 hour xx film i get two seperate titles which playback in turn. but you get a delay when it jumps from title 1 to title 2, also the time remaining gets reset when it plays disc 2.

is there a way of merging them into one long dvd? preferably using free software? (looks like i need all my dosh for bigger hard discs:))

    Cheers.

there are quite a few free tools to merge film clips together. a good source of information is at http://www.videohelp.com/

Has a lot of 'how to' guide, links to software, reviews etc.

    Cheers
