Can i make internal sony 500a external?

    I have just got a laptop and would like to take my internal sony 500a out of my home pc and connect it to my laptop !

    What is the best way to do this?

    There are lots of external cases for drives that connect to any PC via USB2.0 or firewire. If your laptops has USB2.0 or firewire then get one of these. You can get them for around £40 from ebay or many PC e-tailers, have a look in a PC mag.
    If your laptop does not have USB2.0 or firewire then you will need to add one of them to be able to connnect an internal drive up.
    Or just a lead to connect (no case for drive)

    Thx for help folks but i ended up getting a usb2 to ide convertor from maplins (£30) which works perfectly :)
