    HI ALL

at the moment i am a newbie to the hc front so when i purchased my philipps all in one mx980 i was impressed with it but since joining these damn forums i realise these are not really brilliant and seperates is the way to go

after listening to a lot of set ups in shops and such this has only confirmed my thought

i think i am going to go for the denon 1802 amp(unless there is a better one out there for the money any advice would be greatly helpful

as for speakers cuz i am on a budget and this will be my first venture in seperates i was looking at these

    www.richersounds.co.uk/index.php?f=itemdetl.php&p=205791

    Eltax Liberty 5.0 System
    (Package)

these are 249 quid from rs now i know there is no sub with them but i am sure i read on here that with these you could get away without a sub (will give me enough time to save for one

so would this set up be bottom end and not really a great improvement or due to the fact what i got alredy

    would i be extremley impressed

    many thanks

It should be a great improvement on your current setup and you can get away without a sub with the Eltax speakers but the overall sound would be improved if you add one in at a later stage.

I use eltax liberty 5s on my PC setup, they are great lil speakers for the money. I don't think you can go wrong with that amp and speaker combo.

I use eltax speakers (not the liberty 5's but the linear response 8.6 with matching surrounds). I have found these to be perfect for my needs and I don't need a sub with the floor standing fronts. The build quality is really nice, and eltax seem to get good reviews in general (given their price point)

hey, bigjonny. i'm currently looking for a speaker package and they look great and i like the colour, too. when do you think you'll be getting them, as i'd really like your opinion when you do. i'm coming scarily close to spending £400 for the ones i had in mind(mission M73i, M7C1i, M7DS)
