Quick question but one that is quite important...kind of! ;)

I haven't got a lot of money to spend on an Home Cinema system but would really like to buy the denon 2105 and the KEF 2005.2 package. To try and save money could I get away with getting the 1005 speakers with a 1905 receiver? I'm likely to use the system for music as well sometimes.
Will I notice the difference? Is it worth spending the extra?

    Please...any advice? :lease:

    Hi

I use to have the 2005.1 package and it was immensely good and when I heard the 1005 I was quite disappointed.

Guessing from what you are saying your budget is probably around £500 for speakers - well I may have just solved your problem!

If you have a look at the link below and search under KEF you will see a raft of Kef 2005.2 packages under £500 from Sevenoaks (from my experience they can deliver for around £20).

    http://www.sevenoakssoundandvision.co.uk/stockclearance/stockclearance.html

FYI - I do not work for Sevenoaks just love bargains and I think this package at the price is a definite bargain (KEF must be replacing it or something like that).

gsrai i respect your opinion but 2005.1 were utter rubbish!
robbiedobbie if you want to save some cash look at canton CD1 for £240 (thats 50% off SRP) and you can add upgrade the system when you can, if the system is for music add a pair of CD100's for front £240 if for movies add a CD50 centre £88 and consider a larger sub 2 pairs CD10, AS22SC and CD50 centre would be good, (can also use 3 CD50 for fronts if you like)

Thanks Horneydragon! I'll have a look at the stuff you've mentioned. I've never thought about getting complete seperates regarding speakers before. Only ever looked at packages. I'm a complete newbie and got scared!

I am very pleased with my first venture into quality AV - I've bought myself a Hitachi 32LD7200 and now want to get a good sound to go with the good picture.

    Cheers again :smashin:

Thats okay, it is only my opinion and I'm not an audiophile I just really liked it for AV. Not heard the canton but I thought the prices for the 2005.2 were quite good and they are quite wife friendly!

I'll have to try and get these cantons (I used bought some ORb mod1's and can't decide if I should go the whole hog with the Orb with my Rel quake sub).
