I bought an entry level iMac just before Xmas. I know on the Apple website there are no options for a bigger hdd nor to fit an ssd, but would it be possible to fit an ssd?

Is there a spare bay for an ssd in the entry level model!

You would need to fit it as a replacement for the current HDD; there aren't any secondary bays

Thanks for the info; I wasn't sure if there was a secondary drive bay.

So much for that idea.

Why "so much for that idea" - you just remove the current HDD, clone it it to the SSD, and fit the SSD in it's place. Simple.

Doesn't the current iMac have a different type of hard drive connector, thus blocking the figment of replacement drives like you could before?
