I am losing the will to live waiting for the perfect (for me anyway) twin tuner freeview PVR with DVD recorder. I already have a freeview box. If i got a product like the upcoming Panny DMREH60D could i use it in conjunction with the stand alone freeview box to get the same effect as an integrated twin tuner ? If so would it be tricky or is it just a matter of plugging the right scart leads in the right holes ?

    Don't see why not.
You would however be able to record only ONE channel at a time unless you bought more than one DMREH60D, or if you replaced/added to your freeview receiver an extra DVR or some kind.

I use a bank of TiVos to get the same effect as multiple tuners.
Just takes up a lot of space. Luckily the TiVos all have RGB passthrough and automatic SCART switching built-in, so I didn't need any SCART switchers.
