Hello all, Long time since I last posted a message! I'd love some advice please. I have a Marantz CD63 player and I'm just using my Denon AVR 3802 as a stereo amp as well as for AV duties. My speakers are Monitor Audio Silver 8i floorstanders on front, 10i centre and fxi's on rear plus MJ Acoustics Pro 50 sub - fronts are bi-wired with Silver Anniversary cable. Although I'm still really happy with the Denon for AV sound (DVD player is Denon 2800 mk2 + TV is Tosh 32ZD26P) I've never been quite 100% happy with the stereo performance. My CD 63 is now starting to play up, so I'm on the hunt for a new CD player - which has got me to thinking. Would I be able to successfully combine a new stereo amp with the Denon AVR 3802 so that the stereo amp drives the 8i's? Would this sound awful? Are there any CD players/amps suited to this? Any advice would be most welcome. I don't want to go TOO mad on the cash front. I'm looking at spending around £400 on a CD player and possibly the same again on a new amp if it will improve my current setup. Many thanks in advance (and apologies if this has been asked a thousand times before) Adele.
