does anyone know if is is possible to build a video prossesor from computer parts, something like dvdo vp30 or lumegen hdp quality? need to upscale to 1024 x 1024 hitachi alis panel, dvi-d out, preferably with plenty of inputs and remote control in some kind of slim looking attractive case? i want to plug in toppfield pvr, sony dvd, and cable box, budget up tp £700.

you can buld an HTPC which can do some scaling but you cant feedan ALIS panel native they wont accept 1024x1024 and you cant bypass the internal scaing so its a futile excerise (doesnt mean you cant get good results or improvemnts but you can do what you can with a Pio/Panny/NEC panel)ALIS just isnt designed for PC use (wasnt designed for HC use either)
