Is it possible that a pixel will suddenly give up the ghost after use? Or do they only occur during manufacture, so if you get a perfect projector without dead pixels, it will always stay that way?

    Thanks.

As far as I know, it's much more likely to be dead/stuck from the start, and fairly unlikely that a pixel will die during use.

Although it's not impossible. My LCD monitor has a stuck pixel that definately wasn't there from the start.

Failure during use is very rare, much rarer than DOA. I guess it isn't totally impossible, though.
