I noticed someone had posted a thread asking if anyone could remember the 80's cartoon Dungeons & Dragons which I can & used to love but at about the same time a program was running on ITV called Star Fleet which was basically a Japanese version of Thunderbirds/Terrorhawks dubbed into English. I think the series was only shown twice and I thought it was awesome!
I think there was a robot in it called DYE X which was made up of three separate spacecraft when they docked together?
    Can't remember much else, anyone?

Yes I remember it well. I used to love it :smashin:

I rediscovered it about two year ago on the internet - I had completely forgotten about it - it was like suddenly remembering a repressed memory! :D

Here's hoping for a DVD release...

This was probably my favourite show during those times...replaced Tiswas for me as the only reason to get up on a Saturday morning!
Can't believe not many people remember it as it was massive in its day.

Just played back the closing theme brought a tear to my eye!!!
    ...slightly embarrasing!

Wow, thanks for taking me back all those years! The name itself didn't instantly ring any bells but as soon as I saw the website mentioned above it all came flooding back to me. Loved the show and can now remember finding the "baddies" rather scary!

Just read that the original Japanese version was released on dvd. If only they'd release the English version :(

My brother mentioned Star Fleet to me a few months back and we spent a whole night searching the net for it, found some good websites and even managed to download the first 3 episodes, I had never seen them before but for my brother it was a trip down memory lane.

Wow, glad to see I am not alone, thought I was only one who remember it. I have mentioned it to my friends before (same age range as me) and they haven't got clue what I am talking about, they where convinced I had dreamt it up!

    I checked out http://www.sfxb.co.uk awesome!

Its says that after being popular over here (it bombed in Japan) their was talk of second series but when the Japanese production company was approached, they had destroyed all original sets and puppets already.

There is also efforts by the guys at www.sfxb.co.uk to try and get it released on English DVD but there struggling to find a willing UK distributor.
If anyone has got any suggestions I am sure they would appreciate them.

    Cheers
