I budget for a sound card and other heatsink and fan, the onboard sound may fall short or the retail HSF be to noisy.

i'll grab a capture card from my local store once the rest is up and running, i think i'll go for the RME once everything else is ironed out.

I just read that "the SilenX 400W is based on a Fortron-Source. On the outside, except for the big ExoticPC SilenX label, this PSU looks identical to a Fortron-Source FSP400-60PFN"
    Ref: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article81-page1.html

It may open up your price options a bit for such a psu.

    regards,
    Rob.

    Nevermind.

There looks to only be a £20 difference and the slienX ones may have improved fan internals, or not! http://www.microdirect.co.uk/productlister.aspx?GroupID=505

The silenX ones are definitely well reviewed and look a great choice for a HTPC. It's annoying that the majority available to the UK are the less efficient passive PFC types though, or I'd have one to try against the Zalman I'm using.

    regards,
    Rob.
