Can a TV get ghosting?

7 months ago I got myself a Samsung R87 after the glorious thread in here and great reviews.

Lately I've noticed that there has been some serious ghosting issues with my TV. The ghosting appears on everything form HDMI, VGA, Component to standard tv watching.

So my question is, did I just notice it, or can TV's over time get ghosting (being a defect TV?).

If you've recently been reading up on the issue, and as such become more likely to notice these things, then of course it's been there all the time. I find it highly unlikely a TV could develop ghosting. Ever so possibly a fault, but a very rare one for it to be there from only recently. More likely you're becoming more sensitive.
