can a hcpc out do a high end dvd player

    i am thinking of building a hcpc to mainly play my AE500 projector,at the moment i am using a £700 dvd player ,will a top spec pc improve the pic quility ,eg ,dvi and a higher resolution image.has any one gone down this road with success ?

    Take a look back at some recent threads on here on the subject of building HTPCs, you'll see there's a very common thread, no pun intended :), about this .. Searching on TheaterTek and FFDSHOW will give you a good start on this subject. :)

    The simple answer is yes, an HTPC outperforms my Pio 868 in terms of PQ, but requires a deal of fiddling, tweaking and general twiddling about to get the best out of it.
