I moved into a new home with speakers already set up in the walls. The projector was mounted but I replaced it. In the ceiling there are 5 audio/video plugs that I assume run through the ceiling and come out behind the bar. I can’t figure out what colors I should be plugging stuff into coming out of the projector, into the plugs in the ceiling, and then what to plug it into to the receiver.

You might be better posting an image so we can see what the plugs are. How many speakers do you have?

Attached are the images of what I’m dealing with

Yellow is traditional the video input/output and red is usually the right hand channel for audio. The green I haven’t a clue so can only assume it’s the left hand channel for audio.

One thing I will say if things have moved on quite a bit from this as everything is HDMI so if you want to upgrade your projector you will need to feed an HDMI from your projector position back to your AV Receiver.

I bought a new projector. Should I rerun HDMI wires vs. what I have now?

OK what’s the projector you have bought and what’s the AV Receiver you are using.

Does the receiver also have HDMI outputs. If so I would run an optical HDMI cable because that will futureproof your potential upgrades for a while if you want to upgrade to full 4K HDR 60Hz.

The receiver doesn’t have HDMI

Then unless you upgrade the receiver there’s no point running the cable until such times as you change it.
