Camper vans to consider

We've always said that one day we'll get a camper van, and now it feels like that day is approaching. I've started having a little look around what's out there and would love to hear recommendations and experiences.

We would need to fit two people and two medium sized dogs. We have no intention of towing a small day car with us so the camper should be a reasonable size to be used to get around as well and not just a sleeper. The Nissan NV200 appeals for its size and price point, but I'm not sure how it would fit the hounds in the night time layout. I haven't seen one in person yet, but will be arranging to go view one at some point.

Also it doesn't seem like there are huge savings to be made buying pre-loved vs. new conversions so is it worth just getting one converted to spec from the go instead of browsing used vans for sale?
