    Hi people
The bolt that fits into cameras is a 1/4inch diameter (6mm) by a 20 threads to the inch and is known as a 1/4 -20 bolt and is fitted on tripods, camera brackets, camera mounting plates etc.,
I'm planning to make an adjustable camera stand for macro photography and need such a 1/4 - 20 bolt or mounting plate with a bolt on it.
Does anyone have a mounting plate, bracket, lighting bracket or even the bolt on it's own about 50mm long they can sell me please? Or know where I can get one at a low cost?
    Regards,

The bolt on it's own should present no problem at all to you - it is a standard 1/4" Whitworth bolt (Don't try to metricate it - it isn't metric) and while you may not find any at your B&Q or Homebase any GOOD hardware store should have/should be able to get some for you. If you really are stuck PM me your address and I'll put one in the post to you.
