Hi,

I've never owned a camcorder, but I've recently got interested in shooting some amateur sport (indoors and outdoors) with some of the clubs I play with, so I need a camcorder that can deal with light levels in sports centres.

So far I've found the following camcorders:

Canon MVX30i (£290)
Canon MV830i (£250)
Sony Handycam DCR-HC35 (£290)
Sony Handycam DCR-HC44 (£270)
Panasonic NV-GS50B (£295)

If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd be extremely interested!

Cheers,

Rich

You will see from my thread of the other day I'm trying to decide which Canon to buy, but your Canon numbers surprise me. They are not in the Canon catalogue my dealer gave me last week. Are yours discontinued models? If so your price is high as the current models are in that range.
If not are they grey imports of models for other countries?

I have a Canon MVX330i, so out of date already. All Ican say is that it is excellent on colour balence in non daylight areas. Light levels would be no problem, but the type of lighting might be if its lithium lighting.

If you mainly video sports ( football, or long distance stuff), you may need something with a decent 15+zoom lens.
