Camcorder Fault / Repair Forum

    Does anybody know of a Camcorder Fault / Repair / Advice forum that i can get information from?

    I have a fault on my Panasonic DS 27 and i would to read up about it.

    Many members on this forum can offer advise on camera faults or problems they had, but it does help if you mention what the fault is ?

    On my panasonic ds27
    i have a F 05 fault code = Rotation of the video head has stalled or too fast

    Does anybody have any idea how to put it right?

    Hi Tom,
    Cylinder error (F05) usally(for this model) caused by poor/oxidised contacts on cylinder drive fpc(flex) cable to pcb, however, sometimes caused by seized cylinder or drive.

    The cylinder is the round thing that the tape wraps around that has the heads to record to tape, just in case you didn't know.

    Being an older model, you may try DYI and if you mess up, atleast you saved on paying to get it fixed and put towards a new one
