Have just received the 540R today but can't test anything because suppliers of the Elac system have not delivered as promised.

Question is: Anyone have any opinion on this combination? For instance, if Elac not suitable I will cancel order and find something else. Important things for me are: small stylish speakers, aluminium or matt chrome finish, good sound (especially for loud music via Prologic II) and very good bass. Budget is about £350, maybe £400. Room size 3 x 3 m.

I have to go overseas this Saturday hence the panic. If necessary, will forget buying online and go to local specialist shops to buy there and then.

This is my first home cinema attempt so don't get to technical on me! Looking at back of Cambridge 540r enough to get me reaching for a cigarette...

I heard a 540R with some kind of Elac design at the Munich show and thought it sounded pretty smart but haven't the faintest idea what the speakers were.
