Bought my first hifi - all 2nd hand kit - last year, CA A300, and eltax monitor 3 speakers - bargain price but now i want something nicer.

Will i notice a big difference buying a pair of B&W DM600i? And just as importantly will the amp run them ok? They're 4ohm and cant find anything anywhere bout the A300 running 4ohm speakers.

If not, could somebody suggest a reasonable amp to look for 2nd hand under £100 that's worth spending the money for the upgrade on - student on a budget and i know £2000 kit would be better but then i wouldnt be able to afford food!!

    Thanks for the help,
    Chris

The A300 isn't rated below 6 Ohms. It isn't going to run the B&W's very well.
