After watching a few videos and noticing the ST-E3-RT pop up quite often I decided it would be great to have one, changing the power of individual flashes all from the camera would be crazy useful.

    But they're £300...

So I noticed that Yongnuo do a similar thing, YONGNUO YN-E3-RT Wireless Speedlight Transmitter: Amazon.co.uk: Camera & Photo but I can't figure out what flashguns they are compatible with.

From what I can make out it seems like they are compatible with the 560iii. YONGNUO OEM YN-560 III (Zoom Function) Wireless Flash Speedlite Flashgun with LCD Screen For Canon EOS 5D, 5D Mark II, 1Ds Mark (IV / III / II / I), 1D Mark (III / II N/ II / I),7D, 60D, 50D, 40D, 30D, 600D, 550D, 500D, 450D, 400D, 350D, 300D, 1100D, 1000D DSLR TTL Flash Speedlite For Canon SLR, Nikon SLR, Olympus SLR , Pentax SLR, Sigma SLR Cameras (GN58): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories Can anybody confirm?

I currently have a Canon 430exii and two YN560ii's. But I use a trigger on the 430 which will in turn trigger the Yongnuos, changing the settings requires me faffing around a bit.

Aren't the E3-RT units radio only? i.e. they only control compatible flashguns with radio receivers, not IR wireless? I might be wrong...

What camera do you have? It might already control groups if it has wireless flash support built in as most new Canons do.

you could also buy a cheap 90EX Canon Speedlite 90EX - Speedlite Flash - Canon UK as this also functions as a wireless transmitter, and can control groups.

Pick one up for £55 off ebay, split from a EOS M kit

I have a 40d, but upgrading to a 6d as soon as panamoz have them back in stock.

I'll have a look on their website but it appears the transmitter will only control the 600ex the way I want it to, they don't have an equivalent flash themselves.

I believe their YN-560 mkIII (not your mkII) will work as that supports RT

    no it wont.

ithat YN transiever radio will only work on 600EX flash by canon and YN(Yes they are about to release same sort of flash as the canon version compatible with the latest radio signal trigger)
