Pioneer seem to be leading the way with Firewire (iLink) connectivity. A single thin wire to connect DVD player to amp to ?screen. Nice!
    The advantages are summarised here:

Am I right in thinking the Pioneer 747i DVD player and AX-10i (and new AX-5i) amplifier are firewire compatible?
Are there any Pioneer users out there who could pass on their comments regarding ease of connection, sound quality and any other positive or negative comments.

(That should be 757i DVD player. 747 is a type of aeroplane!)

The 757i is an i-link DVD player as well as the AX10i and the AX5i surround amps.

I have just been looking round for further pictures of that i-Link but I can only find one on the AX5i here I have a Pioneer brochure and it says both the 757 and AX10i are i-Link.
