I've searched high and low for an answer on this one but as yet to no avail. I throw myself at the mercy of your combined intelligence and experience!! I've got a Pioneer 43MXE1 Plasma screen hooked up to a custom built Windows Media Centre Edition (2005) Box which is running an ATI9800 Pro card at the screen's maximum resolution of 1024x768. NOW, the 'problem' is a question of resolutions and aspect ratios. It is my understanding that the screen is sized to be 16:9, whereas the PC is outputting a signal of 4:3. Therefore, whilst I get a clear image on screen, it is stretched a little out of proportion. I can get MCE to reproportion videos and TV using the zoom function - no probs. However, everything else E.g. photos and the windows desktop are displayed looking out of proportion (too fat). I also understand from reading elsewhere on this forum that the end solution to my problem is something along the lines of "set your native windows resolution to a 16:9 resolution like 1024 x 576 using powerstrip" (I think!?!) I have had a quick experimentation using the custom timings in powerstrip to force a resolution of 1024x576 but all I got was the windows desktop in a square shape and the whole picture was bleached PINK. I'm sure I'm not the only person to ever face this exact predicament, but I'm willing to concede I'm the only one stupid enough to overlook something basic before posting a cry for help..... What am I doing wrong and what should I be doing instead? P L E A S E H E L P M E !!!
